House Rules

  • Before anything else, please read our Code of Conduct.
It can be summarised in one sentence: Don’t be a dick.
We are all here to have fun. Play nicely with others.

  • No advantage for flanking
Barbarians need to attack recklessly to get an advantage, and wolves need nearby allies for pack tactics. Why should you get an advantage for just standing there?

  • No Unearthed Aracana without prior approval

  • We use the Point Buy Method for ability scores.

  • Move your token and then stealth

  • Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything

    • No custom origins or racial swaps

    • All subclass features are available

  • Your character cannot take an action that purposefully damages another player without that player’s consent. The DM May overrule in any case.

  • No Strixhaven content
Silvery Barbs is a ridiculously overpowered spell

  • No flying races

  • If you roll a one on the die for your hitpoints, then you can roll again because there is nothing worse than rolling a one for hitpoints.

If you roll another one on your second roll, then the dice gods don’t like you and you’re stuck with the one.

  • Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Feeding a potion to someone else is an action.

  • Moving through an ally's square is not considered difficult terrain

  • No EchoKnight

  • No Twilight Cleric
Twilight Sanctuary is OP. Plus, it is such a pain to keep track of,

  • When using the Lucky Feat, you must declare that you wish to use Lucky before the roll

  • A Natural One is always a failure. A Natural Twenty is always a success.

  • Subtract five for initiative if you are surprised. Same for monsters. Feats like Alert negate the minus 5.

Resurrection Rules

Resurrection spells like Revivify don’t automatically bring someone back from the dead.

The DC (Difficulty class) is set at ten. On a d20 roll, a roll of 1-9 the character is dead now and forever. On a roll of 10 or higher, the PC is resurrected.

Subsequent deaths raise the DC by two.

The DC can be reduced by two by making three different skill checks performed by different PCS set to the same DC as the overall resurrection.

Here’s an example of how it might pan out.

Malagar is struck down by the evil lich Acererak and the party rush to save him and promptly cast Revivify using a 300 gp diamond.

This is the second time Malagar has died so the DC is set at 12.

Jaycey begs her friend to come back. She rolls a Persuasion check of 13. This beats the DC of 12, so Malagar’s resurrection DC is now 10.

Veris is furious at his friend for taking on the lich and slaps Malagar hard across the face. “You damn fool! Get your arse back in the game! You’ve got so much more to do!” Veris rolls a 6 for his Intimidation check. This is less than the DC of 12, so Malagar’s resurrection DC remains at 10.

Sister Abedi drops to her knees and begs her god Ilmater to spare her friend. Sister Abedi rolls a 19 for her Religion check. This beats the DC of 12, so Malagar’s resurrection DC is now 8.

Malcolm the DM publically rolls a seven on a d20. This is less than the DC of 12 so Malagar is dead.

This can provide great roleplay opportunities!
